Overview

Barbara has extensive experience in the field of executive coaching, group facilitation and leadership and management development. She has worked with individuals and teams at all levels in organisations and in organisations of all size. Her work is informed by her understanding of the importance of the centrality of the individual in the workplace and the part she plays in aligning their role with the strategic direction of their organisation. Barbara brings an energy and drive combined with an empathic and positive outlook to 1-1 and group interventions. She believes in the ability of people to overcome obstacles and develop a proactive approach to their workplace relationships and future career opportunities. Taking responsibility and true accountability provides executives with the ability to exceed their own expectations. Skilled at understanding business strategies she works with individuals and groups to translate these into tangible actions and outcomes.

Representative Client Experience

Working both through 1-1 and group coaching she has worked in partnership on bespoke transformational programmes in Financial, Pharmaceutical, FMCG and Not for Profit organisations and has coached executives from all functions. Through her work with entrepreneurial start-ups, she has designed and delivered business start up programmes both in Ireland and the Czech Republic. She has created assessment programmes for numerous talent management initiatives and delivered team optimisation within key functions in client organisations.

Professional Affiliations and Education

Barbara holds a B.A. in Humanities, Psychology & Sociology from DCU, is a Certified Practitioner in MBTI and 16PF with BPS level A & B Psychometric Assessment. She is a licensed coach and also a licenced entrepreneurial coach. As a Board member of Partas, a community enterprise business, she has a keen interest in social enterprise and the development of not for profit businesses.

Philosophy and Career Highlights

Barbara’s approach will always be sensitive to the individual and their alignment to their organisation and she will work with empathy to understand their goals while ensuring they achieve them. Her work is informed by various models and theories but is underpinned by the theory of relational practice by which she sees that relationships and“connections,” are essential for the individual to develop and flourish in their organisation.

Beginning her career in Nursing, Barbara moved into the field of counselling where she worked with clients in addiction for a number of years. In 1990, she opened her own Recruitment company that she ran as M.D. for 17 years and sold in 2005. She went on to develop a career management business working with clients and organisations in areas such as 1-1 coaching, group coaching, psychometric testing & talent management assessment design. Her career has evolved in recent years as a Director of T-Space where she is involved in partnership with her colleagues and clients in the design & delivery of programmes that address the client organisational need. Working as experts in people interactions and through the T-Space group coaching methodology she supports leaders to transform their organisations through their people.
